Jeremiah 17:7-8

But blessed is the man who trusts me, GOD, the woman who sticks with GOD. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers— Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.
— The Message
But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
— New Living Translation

Lord, I want to be a tree like this. May I be deeply rooted in you. Let me always drink deeply from your aquifers so my trunk grows wide and my greenery profuse. May I be able to shelter and shade others regardless of our environment. Signs and portents point to hard times. Please make us ready for them.
